considering a career in marketing
I came across this wonderful piece written by Ken ndubusi
My life in marketing for the last 7 years has been really eventful:
First year (2017): Just graduated Architecture school, discovered freelancing, started offering services on Fiverr (made my first $2k online). Discovered media buying but wasn’t running ads for companies
Second year (2018): Registered my own company straight out of school, got in and out of network marketing, local ecommerce, got my first apartment, and my first trip to Dubai. Started using my media buying knowledge to grow my business.
2019-2021: Tried different other business models. Started doing media buying for businesses. Got into a few partnerships that were profitable. Got hired as a head of advertising for an 8 figure media agency, worked with one of the biggest new age fintech banks.
2022- Today: Moved to Toronto, went back out on my own. Took everything I learned and started launching growth models and doing media buying for businesses in the event space. Crossed $10k profit in a single month. Launched two offers to six figures in profit. Got a degree in Business Management.
In between all this, I managed to write 3 books, become a keynote speaker, build an online audience of over 50,000 people across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Youtube, launch 6 online courses and enrol over 2,000 students combined.
In less than 2 years living in Canada, i've achieved quite a lot and gotten to do some amazing work for very amazing clients.
